In 2016, Season 1’s complete film, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky, was released. Following that, in 2017, Season 2 concluded with the release of Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower.

When Will Season 3 Of Gundam Thunderbolt Release?

Daryl plays the role of Zeon in Gundam Thunderbolt, while Io Fleming plays the role of The Federation. Naohiro Ogata recently stated why the series was not renewed or brought back for a third season after finishing two seasons. Ogata explained to the interviewers at Anime Herald why season 3 will not be released at this time.

“ I can say that part of the reason you haven’t seen more Thunderbolt is that we’re waiting for more of the original manga story to be developed. We would like to do more Thunderbolt but we don’t want to do it without having more material. Part of the problem is the creator is experiencing tendinitis. When we have more of the manga, we hope to announce more about Thunderbolt.”

This is why they are delaying the release of Gundam Thunderbolt Season 3, as they are awaiting further raw material for this new segment rather than generating new original stories.
